Returning Starters:
My pick for the 2009 coach of the year is without a shadow of
a doubt Coach Wisniewski. In just two seasons Wisniewski has taken Independence from not having a team to scoring 101 points
in the CCS tourney, beating Whetstone (a team with 3 city finalists) in a dual, and producing a City Champion
is sophomore Jajuan Ross. Independence also returns most of there starters and some very solid ones at that
in Long (140), Rivera (119), Hauth (189) and Gutierrez (215) who made it into districts as an alternate when
a placer didn’t show up. With some tough off-season work, I could see Independence in the top three next season!
